BRAZILIAN CULTURAL MONTH 2007

For the fifth consecutive year, the Pharos Trust presents the Brazilian Culture Month, a series of activities dedicated to the arts and culture of Brazil. These events, organised in collaboration with the Brazilian Embassy in Cyprus, showcase aspects of Brazilian culture through art, music, dance, films, books and lectures, and they have become a very popular part of the Pharos Trust’s annual programme.

The events, which will take place throughout the month of October at various venues in Cyprus, will include a recital by pianist Pablo Rossi, a guitar recital by Yamandu Costa, a Brazilian Film Festival, an exhibition of contemporary Brazilian artist Cao Guimarães, the Book launch of the work of Anna Maria Maiolino following her exhibition in Cyprus in October 2007, and an evening of Brazilian Jazz music with one of the most celebrated bands of its kind, Botafogo and the breathtaking vocalist Catia Werneck.
