Relations between Brazil and Cyprus have been developing rapidly over the past few years, with Cyprus as a new member of the European Union and with the EU being Brazil’s largest trade partner. This has been reflected in increasing trade relations between the two countries. I very much hope this trend will continue and that Brazil will use Cyprus as a base for its commercial interests in the region, not only in the Middle East but also in Eastern Europe. Greater contact and communication will also open up possibilities for Cypriot businesses to find markets for their products and services in Brazil.

The website also provides information in the cultural sphere, and in particular about the Brazilian Culture Month which the Honorary Consulate has been organising for the past three years together with the Pharos Trust and with the support of the Embassy of Brazil. I hope this event will become an annual tradition in Cyprus.
