BRAZILIAN CULTURE MONTH PABLO ROSSI

The Brazilian young pianist Pablo Rossi won the Young Performer Piano
Competition in Lages/Santa Catarina at the age of seven. He was taught by the
renowned Russian pianist Olga Kiun, and later, at the Moscow Tchaikovsky
Conservatory, he became a student of Elisso Virsaladze. Rossi has been
first-prize winner of major national competitions in Brazil, including the First
Nelson Freire National Competition for New Brazilian Talents in 2003. He also
won the International Piano Competitions in Cordoba, Argentina (2001), and the
Perfecto Garcia Chornet International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain
(2002). He has collaborated with a number of distinguished orchestras and
conductors, such as the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra under Roberto
Minczuck, the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra under Anton Nanut, the Symphony
Orchestras of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Salvador, as well as the Soloist
Chamber Orchestra of Londrina and Antique Camerate of Paraná. He has
participated in numerous festivals in Brazil and Argentina, and ever since his
first concert for “The Keyboard Trust” in London, he has given recitals in the
United States, Italy, Germany, Italy and Spain. His first CD, recorded at the
age of eleven, includes works by Bartók, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff,
Shostakovich and Nepomuceno.
For his recital in Cyprus, Pablo Rossi will perform works by Schumann, Chopin
and Beethoven.
